An interactive demo belongs inside the process, not only on a web page
Hotspots, chapters and narration make a demo good. Where the viewer sees it makes it useful.

A good demo saves a meeting. The buyer goes through the product at their own pace and sales sees what caught their interest. The same idea works after the sale too, but then the demo is rarely shown at the right moment.
Three moments when a demo does the most
The first is the client's kickoff. With a two-minute demo on the first step of the welcome run, the client knows what happens and when. Fewer questions come in because the answer has been shown.
The second is a new person's first week. The demo, the guide and the handbook page open at the step that needs them. The third is the hard exception: a rarely done step whose instructions have been forgotten.
What a good demo has
A short structure, one claim per slide and a hotspot where you want the eye. Chapters and «Choose your path» let the viewer jump to their own topic. The numbers show the slide where viewers drop off, so you know what to fix.
The demo starts muted and the viewer decides about sound. Sensitive data is blurred, and an internal demo can be protected with a password or an expiring link.
